Submerged

The sea and its proximity have been a constant source of inspiration within the design process for my athleisure collection ‘Submerged’. Throughout the design process of this collection, I considered the contrasting rhythm of underwater life and the contradiction between it and our fast-paced lives. I researched scuba diving suits developed throughout the decades to protect the human body from power of the sea, their evolution and innovation, each with their own distinct features. This inspiration is evident through the choice of sleeve shapes, neck lines and fabric details. The sea was also the inspiration behind my fabric print design, drawing influence from water and sand textural pattern and the colour from bioluminescent sea life. All prints are made through distorted macro photography depicting textures of the sea, sand and bio luminosity. The collision of bright uplifting colours makes the collection attractive for summertime festival goers or even just to bring the ‘feel-good’ factor to a regular day.
