The Walls

For the City of Londonderry, the Derry walls have been an intrinsic part of the city’s design and its identity. “The Walls” is a documentary which intends to examine the history of the walls and what is the social impact they may have the modern Derry. To communicate this better I have collaborated with various historians and key figures in the various communities in the city to see how the walls effects in terms of how they see their identity. I have also worked with the Tower Museum to film the trove of artefact in hope of having a through and authentic look of the history of the walls. In terms of who it was for, I believe that this documentary would be beneficial for those who want to understand the historical and social implication the Walls can have on the society. Such knowledge could prove helpful for historians and those want who want to understand the community such as politicians.

Here we see a shot of thewalkways on the walls this was to establish what the walls look like in the modern sense and how scenic they can be.
The selection of artifacts to film were provided to me by the “Tower Museum” who were a great help with the research of the documentary and helped give a sense authenticity.
