In 16th-century Ireland's misty Cavan hills, half-human, half-vampire Iomhar arrives in a wary village to open an antique shop. He quickly bonds with kind human Niamh, sparking whispers among suspicious locals. Chaos erupts when full-vampire Faolan arrives, slaughtering villagers and framing Iomhar and Niamh. Enraged, the mob burns Niamh at the stake. Iomhar unleashes his fury, slaying the attackers in vengeance.
