The ‘Cult of Circus’ collection aims to provide consumers and onlookers with a sense of mystery and eeriness. It takes all the fun, exciting parts of the circus and twists them just enough to give a sense of unease. This collection was inspired by the quote ‘The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb’, which means that the people that you find on your way through life could be more of a family to you than your own blood. The look I am aiming to achieve with this collection is very dark and grungy using fabric distress and texturing. The intention is for the collection to suggest wearers who have just stumbled out of the forest after a long night of nefarious activities. I am designing for the wacky and weird. The celebrity on the red carpet or other events where they will need an eye-catching look. My collection aims to work mainly with natural fabrics.
