Flaura & Fauna is a collection devoted to cultivating a modern, refined, and effortless aesthetic. The name is evident in the garment designs distinctive textures and natural character. Inspired by the phrase “three deep breaths,” the collection uses fabric manipulation techniques to visually express the release of stress and the calming effects of diaphragmatic breathing. The overall mood is sophisticated and contemporary, while subtle influences of traditional Irish design add depth and cultural resonance. This is particularly evident in the choice of materials, including leather and tweed, which reinforce the balance between heritage and modern femininity. The collection embodies a distinctly feminine identity, combining authenticity with understated elegance. Sustainability is integrated throughout the design process in two key ways. Firstly, the fabrics are composed of 40% recycled fibres from McNutt of Donegal, introducing subtle flecks of colour across the neutral base and enhancing versatility within the wardrobe. The leather is sourced from deadstock from Orla Vera. Secondly, all materials were selected for their durability and longevity, ensuring the garments are timeless investment pieces rather than single-use fashion items.
