Crystal Cove

Crystals is the main inspiration for my final collection. Crystals have a deeper meaning to me, it reminds me of my upbringing in South Africa. I have fond memories as a child where I would go to Sudwala Caves and go dig up crystals and gemstones. I love the way the light reflects of the crystals forming different shapes and lines. I combined these shapes with the work of Bridget Riley to create optical illusion fabric print designs. My aim for this project was to create bodices from these optical illusion prints to emphasis and minimise different areas of the body.
