The Compassion Collection

The ‘Compassion Collection’ is a sophisticated, serene range that endeavours to bring a form of consolation and well-being in these anxious times of Covid 19. Pandemic restrictions have deprived humans from physical contact; embrace, touch which is essential for the essence of our soul. The collection includes soft light padding which will bring comfort to zones of the body and will also enhance the appearance and structure of the collection.

The Compassion Collection Fashion Line-up. Sustainability is at the core of the collection; 100% linen, padding is achieved with wadding made from 100% bamboo. The lining is a silky soft combination of lyocell with a sustainably grown cotton fabric
Fashion Flat Illustrations. A classic range in its natural hue will anticipate circular fashion while encouraging longevity by offering a new lease of life by re-colouring with natural dyes
The square shaped doubled breasted jacket boasts a high standing collar emerging to the back with doubled layer flared sleeves which mirror the dipped hem to the back while the wide square shaped trousers are high-waisted.

The back of the jacket features an embrace created with an abstract stitched form of hands and arms that wrap around the body which echoes the influence of Picasso and the Cubist movement

The Compassion collection can be worn in different ways; here the jacket is worn with culottes
This over-sized patch pocket references the reconnection with the beautiful craft of fringed Banin tweed placemats embroidered by my mother for Teresa’s cottage industries and our ancestors who wove their own fabrics
The devour dress combines pure Irish linen with devore abstract print of my hand which transforms into two people walking away in an embrace. The devore full sleeves are detachable to give the option of two looks
The skirt and top combines padded linen with devore. The top is cropped to the front and dips at the back. The back features the devore hand print which also translates as two people walking away in an embrace. The skirt has doubled flared layers of devore print to the sides with structure achieved from padded linen to the front and back
The squared shaped short doubled breasted jacket is cropped to the front; it has stitched detail of the hand print of two people embracing to the back, with flared sleeves dipping towards the back also. The square shaped culottes have an over-sized tuck to the left held with a tab embellished with 2 linen covered buttons
This garment recreates the hug embrace, it consists of gathered panels interweaved and when pulled together by a wooden fist the garment will tighten it's hug. The cords are encased in toggles made of the elderberry branch while a hand embraces the lower back to unify the hug. The toile was dyed in beetroot juice while the hand and fist were constructed from recycled poplar wood
